Hi, I’m Michael
I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a John F. Barnes trained Myofascial Release Therapist. I have over 13 years of clinical and hands-on experience.
I was introduced to The John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Approach while in PT school. Here, I began to see the possibilities and potential effects of treating each individual as a whole.
My journey into Myofascial Release Therapy began in 2015 after a life changing event. This event caused a rupture in my psyche and up-heaved the life I was living. Old habits, toxic relationships, alcohol, self care, even the foods I was eating all had to be reassessed for the sake of my own life. Little did I know that the skills I was learning through Myofascial Release would help lead me to insights and clarity with my own mental struggles, physical injuries, and psychological imbalances.
It has given me firsthand experience with the ability of the body to hold onto trauma and also the innate wisdom and potential for the body to heal. It wasn’t until I began to adopt a more holistic and balanced way of life was I able to begin to see and feel more clarity in my own body and life. John F. Barnes Myofascial Release offers a safe container for individuals to release old traumas safely and effectively from the body.
As someone who is active, MFR also helps my body recover, manage my aches and pains, and keeps me engaged in the things I like to do. Some of my interests include: surfing, hiking, snowboarding, bachata, salsa, yoga, and ju jitsu
